After four years I finally reached out to actual players
This whole misadventure started when I got hit with Covid, which triggered CFS. If you don't know what CFS means, lucky you. Thankfully I am not one of the really bad cases and ever so slowly, it's been getting better. It basically means I just have a small percentage of energy that someone should have available each day.
For game development it hasn't been all that bad. I might only have an hour of concentrated brain juice a day, but I spend the rest thinking, analyzing, planning.
When I actually sit down and stake out a part of the game it is usually already incredibly condensed, which is a way of working I truly appreciate. Just about the only real handicap I have been facing is that networking is impossible. Social events, physical activities, they are not within the budget. It is why I still work solo after several years, I haven't been out there at all.
So it was a very special and weird experience to change this and hit the road with my Mazestalker demo. I set up camp at Comix Vienna 2025 and it was wonderful! I talk all about it in my latest Videolog.
